Flagship course
Risk Dashboard Foundations
A five-module path for analysts who need a Data Visualization and Analytics Platform for Risk Monitoring and Alerts that remains readable when volumes surge.
Informational price: MYR 1,890 per seat · cohort or self-paced options discussed on contact.
What you will practice
- Define visual hierarchy for primary risk KPIs versus supporting context.
- Translate business thresholds into monitorable signal bands.
- Draft escalation copy that names the next human action.
- Build an eight-hour handover pack that survives shift rotation.
- Critique a live board for noise, latency, and false confidence.
Mei Lin Ong
Former monitoring lead for a Southeast Asia payments risk desk. Focuses on board readability under fatigue, not chart novelty.
Modules
1 · Signal inventory
Catalogue sources, owners, and refresh rates before choosing any chart type.
2 · Threshold grammar
Write bands that separate curiosity from action, including soft and hard breach language.
3 · Layout under pressure
Compose primary, secondary, and buried panels so night desks still find the critical path.
4 · Alert narrative lab
Pair visuals with short sentences operators can read aloud during handovers.
5 · Desk rehearsal
Run a timed scenario with incomplete data and score recovery decisions, not aesthetics.
Learner notes
“Module three’s layout critique caught our habit of pinning every KPI on the first screen. We still argue about color, but the board finally has a spine.”
“Clear on thresholds. I wanted more vendor-specific connectors — the course stays tool-agnostic on purpose.”
FAQ
Do we need a specific BI stack?
No. Exercises use exported CSVs and screenshots so teams on Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or custom stacks can participate equally.
Is there a real limitation we should know?
Yes. This course does not configure production alert routers or write connector code. Graduates leave with design specs and critique habits — your engineering team still owns implementation timelines.
How long does a cohort run?
Five live sessions across three weeks, plus two async critiques. Self-paced access is available through the Cascade Desk tier.
